Overview
Kubernetes has become a widely adopted standard for delivering services across business and industry, yet uptake within the research infrastructure remains limited. In this webinar, we'll introduce the core concepts of Kubernetes, followed by three deeper dives into practical use cases in digital research infrastructure (DRI).
There will be an opportunity to put your questions to the team during the webinar, and to learn more about getting involved with the Cloud-Native SIG, which is a new community for cloud-native technologies in DRI.
Who is the webinar for?
Anyone working with research infrastructure who is interested in learning about Kubernetes and how it may be deployed to facilitate the work of professional support and researcher workflows. Basic knowledge of containerisation is expected, but no other specific knowledge will be assumed. This webinar will be especially useful for anyone planning to attend our upcoming Slinky webinar and hackathon.

The authors for this session have backgrounds in a mixture of domains including HPC, research software engineering, and Cloud service management. They recently formed the Cloud-Native Special Interest Group as part of the Society of Research Software Engineering advocating for employing Cloud-Native technologies throughout the research and academia.
