Webinar: Single-Site to Cross-Site RoCE Network

2:00-3:00pm, 9th December 2026

Online

Overview

This webinar will cover two major pieces of work conducted in 2025 by the Advanced Research Computing team at the University of Birmingham in 2025, to their private Ethernet network. The first objective was to transition from a dependency on a single-site to having cross-site redundancy, and the second was to implement a converged Ethernet network specifically to support Remote Direct Memory Access (RDMA) applications. We will discuss the implementation of these changes, the impact they had, and the lessons learnt during this work.

During the webinar there will be an opportunity to ask questions.
